the bird
Today, one of my 3rd grade boys flipped off his classmate that he was physically fighting with. I was so shocked that he even knew that the middle finger was bad at such a young age and being from a different country. i got so mad that i started yelling at them (in english) and of course they were dumb founded and were asking each other what i was saying. since i couldn’t discipline them myself, i made them follow me to the vice principal’s office and told them to sit and i just went back upstairs to start my class. i couldn’t explain to the vice principal that they were fighting and that one of the boys flipped off the other kid because i’m supposed to never use any korean in front of any of my students. so, i bet that they didn’t tell the vice principal the whole story and got off with just being yelled at instead of something worse. they came back up and were forced to apologize to me for being a nuisance, but i still don’t think there was any justice with this whole situation. this 3rd grade class is the worst…filled with boys that are out of control, i don’t know what to do with them.
i think it’s cute when the kids laugh at the name “victoria” but when a boy chooses the name “unicorn” they don’t laugh at all…-_-
